I First Met Jess, Sandy And Debra, Jess’s Mum, At RACV Royal Pines Wedding Open Day, When They Were Looking For A Venue For Their Wedding. Not Only Did They Find Their Venue But Many Of Their Wedding Suppliers And Helena Couture Designs Was One Of Them.
When Jess showed up for her consult, Sandy came with her. I could see straight away the love between this couple. It was also the first and last time they went to each other’s fittings as they too wanted to surprise each other on their special day.
Jess knew what she wanted, before I even met her and all I really needed to do was guide her with small amounts of additional advice, selecting the correct fabric and lace and then creating it. Jess and Debra were always my last appointment for those Saturdays, and were both a great way for me to relax after six back-to-back hourly appointments, prior to her fitting. They really did make it so easy for me, with their down to Earth, calm and relaxing nature. The journey we took together was such a pleasure and I wish Jess and Sandy all the best for the future.
On another note – Thank you Debra for taking all my Remanent and scrap materials for your students to use. I love that the materials were recycled and did not become unnecessary landfill. One tiny small step closer to a cleaner Earth.
Jess And Sandy – This Is Their Story.
How Sandy and I met :
Ten years ago I worked in a video game store and Sandy thought I was very cute so in an effort to get my attention, came in frequently to buy things. Unfortunately, I was in a relationship, but we never stopped being friends and eventually (two terrible relationships, one international move and seven years later) we finally got our chance. Hind sight is 20/20!
Jess’s Vows:
Sandy, over the last nine years we have been many kinds of friends, both close and far. Yet we have always been there for each other. In the last three years you have constantly shown me through your kindness, your fearlessness, your unassuming brilliancy what true partnership really means. I want tot live up to everything you see in me and to give you everything you truly deserve. You changed my life and then i changed your life and now we change our lives.

Sandy’s vows:
Jess, its been said that the only thing in life that never changes is that everything changes. But even when our youth fades and we start to slow down, the things i love the most about you will never change. Your unending passion for creating and cooking, your excitement about things like new books or when your favourite you-tubers have new videos out, and of course your love of good food and going on adventures. That you have a steadfast sense of whats right and you stay true to what you believe. You’re inner strength and the way you’re always there for others and never give up. I used to feel like i wasn’t much good, just one of me on my own. but when we’re together, it feels like its ok to just be me. So i wanna be me, with you.
Red is the colour of ruby, fire and blood, so it is associated with energy, strength, power, determination as well as passion, desire, and love. Red is a very emotionally intense colour. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure.
The brooch Sandy is wearing is a family heirloom on her mother’s side.
Blue is the colour of sapphire, the sky and sea. It is often associated with depth and stability. It symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, faith, truth, and heaven. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect.
