Dallas And I Were Introduced Nearly Eight Years Ago After My Sister Met Him At A Mutual Friend’s Wedding. A Facebook Chat Turned Into A Blind Date That Led To A Relationship Of A Lifetime. At The ‘Top Of Europe’ On Jungfrau Mountain, In Switzerland In 2017, Dallas Proposed.
Flying by the seat of his pants, as he usually does, he was able to get the engagement ring just in time before we left on our holiday. Once we were back from our holiday, it was time to start planning the wedding. While we toyed with the idea of eloping, my childhood dreams of a fairy tale wedding with our family and friends surrounding us was too tempting. We booked our venue for a date just under 2 years away, giving us plenty of time to build our new home and move in before it was time to start ‘officially’ planning the wedding.
Dallas gave me free reign with a lot of the decisions for the wedding, adding elements of his, like the lolly buffet, along the way. What simultaneously felt like the longest and shortest of times passed and the wedding was here. The rain brought stress and uncertainty but ultimately didn’t dampen our day. Our ceremony was light hearted and fun with a lot of laughter, a perfect representation of us as a couple and our night continued with dinner and dancing and sharing the time with those dear to us. The day was absolutely amazing, it was everything we could have ever hoped for.
It’s honestly hard to say what made me fall in love with you, Sarah. Your laugh and smile had me from the start and without saying a million things, your aura lights up the room and my life. You love me for who I am and that means a lot. I look forward to plenty of more laughs and bringing miniature versions of us into the world. Whatever we do, I know we have each other’s back. I promise to roll with whatever comes our way and always want what’s best for us. Mostly, no matter what, I promise to do it all with you.
Dallas, I’m looking forward to everything our future holds. I’m excited about the big stuff, like travelling the world and starting a family; and the small stuff, like simply coming home to each other after work each day and being on the couch together. Most of all I look forward to sharing those milestones and experiences with you. I love you because of the ease and comfort I immediately feel being around you and your ability to always make me smile and laugh. My promise to you is that I will hold honesty and communication as the most important parts of our relationship and ourselves and who we’ve become as a couple. I feel safe and secure now and for the future to come.
