Over The Years, Our Relationship Has Strengthened And Deepened As We Have Opened Up To Each Other And Become More Involved In Each Other’s Family. Our Children Are Such An Important Aspect Of Our Lives, They Have Made Our Journey Really Meaningful, And We Have Found So Much Joy And Pride In Expanding And Blending Our Families.

We have shared amazing travel experiences, including a horse-riding trip in Italy: where poor Ken’s legs were curled up underneath his chest as he tried to keep up with me; I think the fact that Ken attempted the ride in the first place, is the definition of true love! We also shared a beautiful memory of a scenic helicopter flight in South Island, New Zealand. Despite being petrified of heights, Ken felt it was a magic moment when I saw and touched snow for the first time. He said seeing my radiant and childlike joy was worth the fear of his certain death!
When we are not working on our beloved property, Scarborough, or holidaying at our Lennox Beach house, you’ll find us jet-setting to Melbourne to visit family, or simply finding a new location to chase adventure, or perhaps spending time with friends with an indulgent Sunday afternoon lunch. Our greatest strength as a couple is our genuine friendship and shared values of strong feelings we hold towards our children and home. It’s also the way we embrace each other’s unique idiosyncrasies and hold space to grow emotionally.
I admire the depth of love Ken holds for his children – it is just incredible – and it speaks volumes about his character and approach to life. I admire Ken for being a man of his word, so well respected and successful. I am inspired by his success in business and in his personal life and I have fallen even more in love with him for all the little things he does – like making me a cup of tea each morning, waking me with a kiss and looking at me as if I’m the most beautiful woman in the world. His gestures of love and affection, and kind words, make me feel special, loved, respected and cared for. Ken has even helped me improve my time management skills!

I love that Suzie is strong and resilient, driven and patient (mostly with me). I admire how deeply she cares for all the important things in our life; our relationship, family, friends, her horses, work and charity, and that passion inspires me to live life in a less ‘black and white’ fashion. I find so much joy in embracing our partnership and treasure that she is by my side through everything. The fact that Suzie has tolerated me for this long shows the depth of her compassion and perseverance and I am proud that the bond we share is what true love looks like.
Realising that I’d found my best friend in Suzie, I decided to propose. Suzie knew I had purchased the ring but didn’t know when I would do the asking. Suzie travelled to the USA to meet me after a business trip and she thought ‘this is it’! But, alas, no proposal. I continued to build the suspense and after what felt like forever to Suzie, I thoroughly surprised her and proposed as we enjoyed a decadent meal at her favourite restaurant, Little Truffle. The very next day we visited Suzie’s father in Hervey Bay to share our exciting news with him and our children. We continued the celebrations with a weekend in the Barossa Valley and two weeks travelling around the South Island of New Zealand.
The wedding was held at our property, Scarborough. It was an intimate occasion with only our family; followed by a large celebration with family and friends, a couple of days later. That day of rest in the middle was an absolute Godsend, as it was such a busy week and beautiful wedding day, that even rain couldn’t damper.
