A Harmonious blend of bridal boho and modernism

Follow me down to Palm Beach, on the southern end of the Gold Coast.  Let me be your guide and show you the journey our crazy-in-love, young, wild, and free-spirited couple, Lori, and Dominic took, for this bohemian-styled bridal shoot, with our modern wedding dress, Ashera.

From bohemian to modern, streetscapes to the beach, our creative team will show you how we made this dichotomy look harmonious.

Dress and Veil
Helena Couture Designs

Ashera is such a versatile modern wedding dress, suiting many wedding styles and inspiration for many of our brides.  The four layers of organza skirts, with extra stiffening in the hems for more volume, bounce, and flow, give off a wonderfully playful vibe, perfect for candid images, which then in turn often show a relaxed, happy bride.  The lace skilfully positioned onto the corset, drizzling down over the top layer of the organza skirt, adds a relaxed vibe to a formal silhouette.  Our timeless Ashera was perfect for our very fit and active dancer, Lori.

Suit
Urbbana
The traditional tux is not what you would normally see at the bohemian-styled bridal shoot, but in this case, the suit was perfect.  It complemented handsomely with the black eagle print on the white brick wall, and dressing down the shirt to a business shirt, instead of a tux shirt, is all that was required for our dapper-looking groom, Dominic.

Marisha, who also organised this bohemian bridal shoot was inspired by the fabulous Wildernis Café.  She created a whimsical romantic setting, with touches of soft sage green bringing hints of the beachside into all elements of the day.

The dichotomy of this bridal shoot is not lost on the styling. From the organic and relaxed nature of Palm Beach, the mix of ceramic, clay, wood, cheesecloth, paper, glass, and twine, along with the modern lines and angles of all the shapes used in varying textures, worked harmoniously together.

The simple round arbour draped in both fresh and dried florals, a-symmetrically positioned, in a soft romantic colour palette and a simple bouquet mix of lush roses and dried florals, was blooming beautiful.  The roll-up garage door, which was centre stage, for the ceremonial scene, worked so well too.

Celebrant
Crazy For Love Wedding Celebrant

An authentic ceremony sharing the couple’s love story filled with laughs and the perfect amount of romance.

Hair and Makeup
Makeup By Theresa Eltagonde

Theresa created a classic bridal feel, natural and elegant, with makeup. The hair had an effortless, romantic mix with a bit of boho style, which lasted all afternoon and evening.

Candles
Southern Lights Candle Co

Tall and elegant dinner and taper candles in delicate shades of sage, latte, ivory, and antique pink were selected to compliment the colours in the bridal bouquet and stationery. The clear glass cube taper candle holders added a minimal yet classic touch to the table styling. The dinner and taper candles featured are only some of the forty-four colours from their Moreton Eco, candle collection. All-natural, fairtrade, renewable plant based wax and vegan-friendly candles.

Stationery
The Rustic At Heart
Entwine is their ethereal suite of rustic plants weaved together to form the vines motif. Engraved into the grains of raw timber this truly botanical suite is an elegant balance of romance and raw. Paired with stationery of soft engraving on fresh white cards and elegantly finished in soft sage ribbons to compliment the vibe of the Wilderness Cafe.

Jewellery
My Jewellery Shop

For Her: This gorgeous rose gold engagement ring features an illusion-set pear diamond surrounded by a sparkling diamond halo. This was accompanied by a beautiful rose gold diamond claw set wedding band. The rose gold pear-cut drop earrings added the finishing touch and perfectly complimented the bride up-do.

For Him: A simple but modern plain rose gold band with a brushed finish to match his beautiful brides’ rings.

Cake
Whisk by Sarah
Where less is more.  A simple stand-alone, two-tier cake, using the texture of the icing, and a strip of fabric cut from the cheesecloth napkin, tied into a bow, really was all that was required.

 Location
The Wildernis Cafe

The owners, Andy and Sharna, have done a wonderful job with Wildernis Café. A trendy and not so little, café and bar, in a great location in Palm Beach.  The service is great, the food is exceptional, tantalizing to the taste buds, and the atmosphere, with the interior décor, architecture, artwork, and views from the first level towards the beach, makes this an ideal venue for elopements and small weddings.

Photographer
Atomicbutterfly Photography

This was not the first time Rachel has shot one of our dresses, but it was the first time I was able to work alongside her, during our styled shoot.  She worked quietly and effortlessly throughout the afternoon and was open to ideas that are not your typical wedding image but leaned to a more edgy look and boy did she pull it off, while also capturing beautifully stunning and joyful moments.
