Christmas is just around the corner, and I thought it would be lovely to showcase Chelsea, our first of hopefully many more ballroom dresses, by Helena Couture Designs.
Even though we have been designing and manufacturing bridal and formalwear for over three decades, this process for our first ballroom dress was an entirely new journey. A journey that not only I loved every second of, but so did Chelsea and her entourage.
From Chelsea’s initial consultation through to her final fitting, her ballroom dress excitedly evolved due to valuable discussions between Chelsea, her entourage, and myself.
I love to push myself and learn new techniques and design ideas dependent on the environment the garment will be worn. There were many crucial factors to consider with Chelsea’s dress because of how she would look and move while dancing.
The result was breathtaking! The endless flow of the skirt was mesmerizing, enhanced by the matching headpiece and the wristband that secured the float. The skirt had a wonderful a-symmetric hemline, and the drop-waisted bodice was ladened with lace and crystal detailing on both front and back. I hope you will agree as you peruse the photos, how stunning and elegant this dress became.

In Chelsea’s own words…
Helena is so incredibly talented at what she does! She was able to create a stunning ballroom dress for me and it has received many compliments. She allowed me to have my own input while giving her professional opinion to create a gorgeous dress.
Thank you so much Helena

And Roger, the rescue greyhound.

Despite popular belief, due to the greyhound’s great athletic ability, they actually have a quiet disposition, happy to sleep most of the day. They are intelligent and gentle dogs, great around both children and the elderly, and happy to relax with their owner, indoors, rather than run around outside.
If you are interested in rescuing a greyhound, there are many adoption programs around Australia. Just go onto Google and search in your local area.
