This Photo shoot is inspired by an antique 1920's flower shop with a modern spin. It has been an amazing experience and this is just a small preview of what is in store. The venue is a warehouse with a "Beauty and the Beast" themed setting.
My dresser Leonie and I arrived around 2pm at the South Bank Convention Centre, Brisbane. There was a flurry of excitement from the models, designers, dressers and organisers getting ready for the full dress rehearsal, which went off not only without a hitch, but brilliantly. The Tamblyn models that had been there since 9am were fantastic and on the night of the fashion parade did justice not only to our bridal label, but all the bridal labels, showcasing seventy bridal gowns, some of which were only going to be shown Friday night.
Leonie and I had some time to kill between the full dress rehearsal and the actual parade that started at 7pm, so we took a wonder around the QLD Brides Wedding and Honeymoon Expo and met some very creative exhibitors. One exhibitor in particular Vicki from Studio Rosa Floral Artistry and her husband were creating a divine mix of floral art and what started as a conversations between creative minds ended up with Vicki creating a boho styled bouquet for our “Age of Aquarius” bridal gown “Blossom”. Thank you Vicki for your generosity, your beautiful “Blossom” inspired bouquet now takes pride of place on our dining table.
Thank you to all involved in creating such a perfect night and a great way to show off Helena Couture Designs and start the expo.
Our bridal label, Helena Couture Designs was a huge success yet again!
The parades went flawlessly, a great mix of all vendors and couples and we were busy all day! Tony and I were exhausted and are both still recovering.
We were also very happy with the response we received from brides and grooms to be. We always try to make our label and booth stand out from the crowd and show girls what they can really get for the same value in most budgets.
7 News Gold Coast yesterday captured "Victoria" and "Raquel", two of the many favourites of the day.

A picture says a thousand words...
Each couture gown we design and create is as unique as the wearer. Even when we use the same lace, such as the “Kelly” lace below, you can see how the figure shape of the client and the application of the lace creates three very different looks.
Only the wedding dress on the far right is finished. The first two were at different stages of completion.
When I first met Geoff and Rachael, I knew Geoff by reputation only of his business Motion Art and the beautiful work he produces.
As time went during Rachael’s fittings, she and I began to know each other more and in turn I also got to know her twin sister Tegan and she met my family.
What a riot Rachael and Tegan’s fittings were to become! My husband often wondered whether we got any work done, due to the laughter and talking coming from the studio on the days he was present.
Since their wedding, Geoff and Rachael have become the parents of a little girl and Rachael has become one of my dearest friends.
